A Celebration of Young Carers – Anthology Launch
Saturday 21st June
1pm - 4pm

Nelson Studio, Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham - Theatre Square, Nottingham NG1 5ND

Free
This collection explores the creative adventures and inner worlds of young people with caring responsibilities, through poetry and storytelling that reflect imagination, courage, and heart.
At the event, young carers will share their writing on themes such as dreaming boldly, stepping into imaginary portals, mindfulness, and the importance of saying “no.” Their work reminds us that bravery often begins with nerves, and that creativity can offer both support and escape. These pieces are written not only for themselves, but as messages of encouragement and comfort for other young carers and those yet to discover the power of creative writing.
The anthology and workshops have been developed in collaboration with Tuvida’s Young Carers Notts, a charity supporting young carers aged 5–17 across Nottingham, and also feature contributions from the outreach cohort at Bulwell Academy.
Expect moving performances, guest speakers, and a safe, welcoming space that celebrates young people who are so often unseen, offering them the spotlight they truly deserve.
Please join us in creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere where every young writer feels heard, valued, and supported.
Funded by Arts Council England through National Lottery support.
The project is led by Danny Donnelly (Danny JD), with anthology facilitation and hosting by Jim Hall.
