Vanessa Kisuule is a writer and performer based in Bristol. She has won over 10 slam titles and was the recipient of The Jerwood Micro Arts Bursary in 2017. She has performed at an array of renowned poetry events and venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, The British Library, Blahblahblah at the Bristol Old Vic, Tongue Fu and Chill Pill in London as well as many festivals including Shambala, WOMAD, Wilderness, Secret Garden Party and Glastonbury. Her poetry collections ‘Joyriding The Storm’ and ‘A Recipe For Sorcery’ are both published by Burning Eye and her work was Highly Commended in The Forward Prize Anthology 2019. Her one woman show SEXY toured with the kind support of Arts Council England, Bristol Old Vic and Camden People’s Theatre. She is the Bristol City Poet for 2018 – 2020.

Sue is a performance poet who has been sharing her words anywhere people gather to listen for about 15 years. Much of her work focuses on women’s experience. Sue has featured at a variety of venues across the East Midlands including a number of poetry festivals and women’s day events. Her latest pamphlet “Finding Comfort in Salt”, released in October2020, explores the themes of love and loss. Sue is a member of Nottingham based DIY Poets and Paper Crane Poets

Ravelle-Sadé, known as ‘A Poetic Perception’, is a self proclaimed accidental poet who started writing two years ago. Her work mainly focuses on mental health and the power of self-acceptance and self belief.
A week after writing her first poem, she got invited to share at the very first poetry event that she had attended. Accepting herself and her anxiety, she went for it. An audience member approached her, explaining that the poems had helped to normalise their experience. From that day, Ravelle-Sadé has been actively sharing her insight with hope that it helps others.
Since then, she has gone on to share her poetry at numerous events such as The NHS, Nottingham’s Splendour Festival, BBC Radio, Nottinghamshire Pride and Youth Parliament, as well as being a runner up for an award at The Black Achievers Awards 2019 and recently being appointed as a Trustee at New Perspectives Theatre Company.
