A masterclass on performing your own work to an audience

Charlie Sanderson is a Derbyshire based actor and performer. Her stage credits include the West End and Broadway. She performs regularly at spoken word events in Nottingham, and she’s voiced over 300 books on Audible. Charlie is also a former youth theatre worker and experienced facilitator, who empowers writers from every walk of life to perform their work with confidence.

In this one off workshop, part of a series of accessible events in partnership with Nottinghamshire Libraries, Charlie shares a range of professional tips and exercises, carefully tailored for anyone who wants to take to the stage and read to an audience.

A mixture of teaching and active learning, participants will have the option to read their own work and gain individual feedback, though this is optional.

This is an in person event that follows on from Charlie’s popular online workshops with Dialect Writers CIC

In 90 minutes, she’ll give participants the tools to bring their words alive, and help them to discover the joy of performing.

This event is offered on a sliding payment scale, to ensure it’s an accessible event. If cost is still a barrier, some spaces are reserved on a free/donations only basis.
