Day one of the Ex Libris books sale, lots of books for sale, and raising more money for local charities. Wearing of masks is encouraged at all times!

Happy to announce, The Mayor of Gedling, Councillor Vivienne McCrossen, has very kindly agreed to open this year’s mega Masked Charity Booksale at 10am   Do pop along to see her open the sale (will she be masked?) and then you can grab the best books.
Other special times to look out for are on Saturday 28 April: at 1.30pm Rowena Edlin-White will be selling and signing her book Exploring Nottinghamshire Writers, and at 2pm we will have poetry from Dave Wood and Friends.

A lot more books have arrived this week.  Every year they seem to have certain subjects which are particularly strong on.  This year, they include: railways; science fiction & fantasy; cake decorating; crafts (many different types); military history; and death.  And if you would like to buy a cricketing biography, they could probably supply it.  If you wouldn’t like to buy a cricketing biography, please do so anyway.  Please!

Of course, there are thousands of books on other topics too.

You will be able to place secret bids for three booky deals, including the (almost) complete works of Dickens in a lovely edition.

The organisers are still recruiting cake bakers and back garden minders, so please get in touch if you’d like to help.  Of course, your cakes would be very welcome if they just arrived unannounced, too.
