LYR (Simon Armitage’s Band)

Joining us for this year’s Nottingham Poetry Festival are Simon Armitage (UK Poet Laureate), Patrick James Pearson and Richard Walters as LYR.

LYR is Land Yacht Regatta.

Their debut album Call In The Crash Team is the culmination of a triangular collaboration that took shape against a backbeat of social alienation, a backcloth of austerity politics, a search for beautiful noises and the uncontainable urge to fuse language and music. Your host for the evening will be Carol Leeming, acclaimed world class musician & award winning poet, a storyteller who weaves music, theatre, dance, poetry, digital images still or moving, to creates a liminal space, for interesting things to happen.  Carol write plays, and both short and long form poetry. Her choreopoems are short stories in non-rhyming verse. She performs regularly in Leicester & across the East Midlands.  daretodiva.org
