Fancy some tips and tricks for engaging your audience on stage?

Join us for a masterclass with the legendary wordsmith and incredible performer Panya the Poet.

Panya will help you to bring your poetry to life during two hours of activities up in The Neville Studio at Nottingham Playhouse. Please arrive at 9.45am, ready for a 10am start.

Panya Banjoko is a UK-based poet and PhD Researcher at Nottingham Trent University. Her debut collection, Some Things, was published by Burning Eye Books (2018) and her forthcoming collection (Re)Framing the Archive is slated for June 2022. Her poems feature in numerous anthologies including award-winning Clever Girls winner of the Working-Class Studies Association’s “Jake Ryan and Charles Sackrey Award for a Book about the Working-Class Academic Experience” and award-winning Dawn of the Unread published by LeftLion Magazine (2016). In 2017, her poem ‘One of a Kind’ was commended in the Writing East Midlands Aurora poetry competition and her poem ‘They and Them’ has featured in exhibitions by artist and academic Keith Piper at the Beaconsfield Gallery, the British Film Festival and International Film Festival in Rotterdam as well as the Québec en toutes lettres literary festival ‘Mega Poetry Happening’. Panya is a multi-award-winning poet, co-ordinates a Black Writers Network, and is patron for Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature.
