Following on from his live band performance at Metronome on 13th June, Nottingham rap artist, Cappo, is proudly exhibiting a visual deconstruction of his music at NTU’s Bonington Gallery (NG1 4GG), from Saturday 14th – 21st June.
Based upon a recent doctorate in English, rap music and Creative Writing, the CAPstone installation explores new possibilities for the alignment of hip-hop lyricism with more traditional artistic mediums, and attempts to reevaluate how music is perceived, contemplated and represented in modern settings.
Themes of isolation and sociality (in abstracted forms) taken from Cappo’s two most recent LPs (S.T.A.R.V.E. and Houses) will serve as backdrops for the piece.
The installation will be launched on Saturday 14th June at Bonington Gallery (11-3pm), and will be open to the public until 21st June.
