‘Elements of Nature: Children’s Poetry Festival’
Do you love poetry, art or storytelling? ‘Elements of Nature’ is a chance to get creative, play with words and celebrate poetry and nature together at Lakeside Arts.
Drop-in from 10 am till 3 pm to enjoy our inside-outside, free festival workshops for children and families exploring the ‘four elements’ (earth, water, air and fire) – through hands-on, interactive activities inspired by nature.
Make and decorate simple kites in our Air workshop to send words dancing through the sky. In Water, gather your favourite rhymes and ideas to add your voice to a tumbling waterfall of words, full of ripples and surprises. Earth invites working with clay and natural materials to cast textured poetry sculptures/fossils. Finally, in Fire design glowing paper lanterns full of colour, light and your brightest poetic sparks…
