Meanderers and Green Hustle Poetry Walk

9th June | Starting point: Nottingham Castle

Get involved with this years Nottingham Poetry festival, and join Meanderers for a nature inspired walk through the city. This walk-shop will include a guided walk with live poetry readings, creative activities and prompts to write your own nature inspired writing and create text based artworks. Also included is the opportunity to see work by Robert Montgomery at Nottingham Castle, input from a member of the Green Hustle team and an optional social dinner and sharing event at The Foragers Kitchen in Sneinton Market.

Starting at Nottingham Castle with Robert Montgomery’s evocative light piece poem The People You Love Become Ghosts Inside of You presented as part of an exhibition. Montgomery is a Scottish-born, London-based contemporary artist and poet known for his large-scale light installations featuring words and poetry in public spaces, often created with environmentally friendly LED lights. We will then walk through town, stopping at points to notice our surroundings and the flora and fauna that lives alongside our city, and trying out different poetic styles of writing to capture nature in our own words. Amelia Daiz will also share some of her own poetry as well as a selection of some of her favourite published poets. A member of the Green Hustle team will be joining the walk and sharing their own insights into nature in the city.
