Poets Against Racism
14th June | The Malt Cross
Poets Against Racism celebrates its 10th year by going back to its roots, challenging racism, bigotry and discrimination through the power of poetry.
In 2016, Poets Against Racism held its first event in Nottingham, it’s aim was very clear from the start, form a collective of poets and performers to use their art to challenge racism.
Over the last 10 years we have gathered poets from across the UK, organising poetry events in Nottingham, London, the West Midlands and York. In 2021 we were so pleased to help support the launch of Poets Against Racism in the USA.
Our online and in-person events have been, political, emotional, poetic and unforgettable.
In a world were racism and the far-right continue to grow, we will challenge the bigotry and fear they create by using our poetry and words to spread hope, love, solidarity and stand up for refugees.
Come and join us at our regular Nottingham venue The Malt Cross for a night of uplifting and rebellious poetry.
We plan to celebrate our 10th year with a fantastic selection of local poets from across the Midlands, an open mic and a live online link to the US, welcoming our colleagues from Poets Against Racism and Hate.
So come join the resistance and celebrate the power of poetry
